how frequently does someone say this to you? i don't even realize i'm annoying the other person and they pop their head in annoyance.

I think I'd rather hear that than notice the exchanged glances and bored expressions.

More like the opposite...most people are constantly telling me how quiet I am...as if I need a constant reminder of my poor social skills. F***ing morons. :P

I vary between being very quiet with people I don't know well to babbling with people I'm comfortable with. I overcompensate.

Yea it's the opposite for me also. They usually notice how quiet I am.

And me too.
My sister once said 'why are you still talking'? rather rudely to me.
Just because I don't follow her hidden rules that she expects me to know.

When I'm around people other than my family, it's the opposite - "Why are you so quiet?"
When I'm around my family it's - "OK, mmhmm, yeah, gotcha, geat...eat your dinner"

Luckily no one has ever said "Are you still talking?", cause if they did, I'd punch 'em in the nose. :)

People say both to me too. I find it rather hurtful.
Either 'Will you shut up' or 'Oh you don't want to talk to me then'

it happens to me and then I feel embarrased and feel like I want to just crawl in a hole and hide.
