Hello, I will be attending my first aspie support group soon. I filled out papers and mailed them. Its also a autism research center as well.
Have any of you ever been to an aspie support group, and how is it?

Yes, I am in an Aspie support group. It was fun and cool and exciting!

But one thing I complain: too many things done at one go, which I can't handle for now.

I love going to them. It's structured and everyone is only allowed to talk one at a time. I feel I fit right in, one of the groups I attend has food and we eat during break time. Then everyone socializes. Sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed when everyone started talking at once. One of the groups does show and tell. I think my next show and tell will be about my trolling I have been doing at Yahoo Answers. My husband thinks I'm weird for doing it.

We meet every first Wednesday of each month at C.A.R.D. I get the chance to meet new Aspies every time I go. Even though I am the only Autie there, I feel like I'm around kindred spirits.

I used to go to the Asperger support group. I hated it. Nobody wants to do anything fun. And I can't have a conversation with anybody, because they get offended. People with Aspergers tend to be sensitive, and sensitive people really suck.

This is unfortunately the problem in most Aspie groups. Sigh.

But then, what is our definition of fun?
