Does anyone else hate it when NTs go, "Everyone goes through it" "It happens to everyone'.
"You just need to learn how to deal with people" "You don't know how to deal with people".

Seriously, I don't think most NTs have been bullied and/or harassed to the degree that Aspies have. I hate how they say that.
I've had this teacher who was unfiar to me for the longest.
My counselor said "It's probably not just you, this teacher is probably a jerk to everyone"
That was like 4 months ago.
A couple weeks ago the teacher was harassing me again, and I had a meltdown.
Finally my counselor was like "It seems she's being unfair to just you"

Well duhhhh!! !! thats what I've been saying all along. Why do NTs do this? It's so stupid.
They always say that it happens to everyone, but it really doesn't. And they either never realize it, or realize it once things get really ugly.

when i tell people about my stories of me being bullied, many people are often in shock.

I think, why care if everyone else goes through something, it doesn't make it any less bad. "My grandmother was a jew, and she was burnt to death in a concentration camp during the holocaust."... "No big deal, it happened to all the jews in her town". Yeah, that makes sense. /sarc

It not about you, its about them, a defense mechanism. They want to convince themselves that if someone is suffering it's their own fault, because if it's that someone's fault, then that means it won't happen to them.

Aspies really do attract abuse. Often times, without thinking, when I meet an aspie-ish person I get this sudden irrational urge to be mean to them. If I think about it though I realize its this subconscious programming, its because they remind me of myself, and how I expect other people to treat me.

Just reply with, "So if I punch you in the face and then tell you that it happens to everybody, does that mean it is okay?"

Yeah, "everyone goes through it" is a totally throwaway comment. I think the motivation for it is that It saves the person who said it from having to treat you as an individual, and listen to your personal experiences.

I agree.
Kinda like when they use that BS line about how if somebody is being nasty to you, it's that person's problem, not yours. It's just an excuse not to deal with it.
