Does anyone here have a problem with laughing when they shouldn't have even when they know they should not be laughing and the consequences are serious you just laugh, I laugh at the expression on someones face, even when to others it is not funny. I actually think that there are only one or two things ( a maximum of four) that actually make me laugh. I believe that everything else I laugh about is a subconcious reminder of those one or two things.

I can also laugh about the same thing over in my head for a very long time. I'm just stopping seeing the funny side of a joke my friend did 18 years ago. Up until then I could laugh my head off just at the mere thought.

No sorry thinking about it and i still see the funny side, so thats 19 years on the same joke.

Yes, I laugh all the time and have problems stopping alot of the time.

People get annoyed because I laugh at stuff that "isn't funny"

I find things funny even after a long time. And usually when I start laughing, I have trouble stopping and then I laugh at myself laughing and then realise how stupid it is and laugh at that and it becomes a viscious cycle until my stomach muscles ache

Sounds like me. OK so I haven't laughed at a joke for 18 years, but I've not been alive that long. But I can think of *giggles* one thing that may well become a life-long joke ... ! Poor guy! But when someone tells you to 'breathe in through your mouth and out through your toes' it doesn't exactly help either! In fact it doesn't help if anybody says or does anything - it just makes me laugh more. I was in hysterics when the guy at our school production of Grease introduced the show and said all the official stuff. I just found it so hysterical, just the most other people did was smile ... oops ... !

This happens with Aspies and cool NTs alike, as an NT friend of mine proved last night when he went into literal hytserics laughing at stupid pictures that we were taking.

When I hear bad news, or in alike situations where you are not supposed to laugh or smile, I usually do not laugh (sometimes I do), but I certainly do have to suppress a smile.

I will be out walking somewhere and suddenly re-discover or simply remember some funny thing and burst out laughing. I do this rather frequently.

I was having a Manic Episode, this morning. It was four in the Morning, and I was thinking about stupid stuff and saying stupid things to myself and laughing. I kept on laughing and talking Crazy Talk to myself, and I could hear my Mom open the Front Door to get the Paper. I kept on thinking about Last Night's episode of Everybody Hates Chris, and telling myself that I shouldn't have watched it. Than I was thinking about some memories from my Past of stupid things that I've said and done and that made me laugh even harder. Than I've counted my Defining Moments that made me who I am, today. That calmed me way down. Unfortunatley, the Calm only lasted 5 Minures and I started laughing my Head off, again.

I used to have the embarassing habit of randomly laughing uncontrollably when I was nervous - so it happened a lot when I was talking to someone I didn't like, or when I was in an uncomfortable situation. :?

I also have trouble putting on a negative face when I hear bad news - if I'm not careful I'll end up looking almost as if I'm smiling in bemusement.

This is me totally. I have laughed at absolutely the wrong times, and people look at me as if I'm off my rocker. Or I'll smile when I'm really angry. Seems like any strong emotions and I respond with an incorrect mannerism or facial expression. I hate going to funerals and weddings cuz I never know what face to put on or how it looks to others.

I have that too. I laugh my head off over things that are only mildly funny, and I find it difficult to stop laughing.

Does that mean I'm cool? :D
Although I don't do this nearly as often as I did when I was younger :?

This has always been an issue. First off, there have been plenty of times where a funny thought pops into my head and it's not appropriate to bring it up, but I just can't hold back my laughter. And also, it usually takes a longer time for a joke to wear off for me.

Once I was doing my biology exam and I just started laughing right there and then at this question that others might find hard, but that I found so simple. I did that two other times too, while doing multiple choice tests and assignments.
