LOL, right! That's eliticism, man. If you have facebook/myspace, you might be familiar with this line if you ask why you got let go. Then you notice some of the people on their list haven't logged on in years. C'mon.

That seems like snobbery, to me and I've dealt with my fair share of snobbery.

Do you never talk to them? If so, why do you care?

Also, they might talk to those people via different channels.

Friendships are very weird. Try not to read too much into it or take it too seriously or you'll, like me, drive yourself crazy!

It's a petty thing, but I still wonder why me and not the other people? Yes, they might talk to others via other channels, but you know, I go with my gut, especially if that person had an air of superiority at times. And for you information, I'm already a little crazy. :P

Maybe they don't like you that much? Sounds a bit harsh, I know, but having people not like you that much is something we need to accept if we're to be comfortable with ourselves and get anything out of the whole friendship thing.

It's harsh, but I'm fine with it. I'd rather it be something like that than "oh man, he's an alright guy, I can feel him, but... you know, I don't want his face on my list. I don't want people thinking I'm friends with him."

I delete people on my facebook. I don't delete people I never talk to, because then I would delete about 90% of my friends  But I have gone through there and thought 'Who is that?' and deleted a few people. I've also been deleted in return...it's fine.

I've been deleted numerous times, and been re-added on occasion. Recently, I've considered doing that very thing. Facebook has become more than a social outlet; I advertise there, I retain connections in three different jobs that I work in... and strangely, while not necessarily friendly, I seem to have been memorable to others when I was younger. At over 400 connections right now, it is a bit much because I can rarely post anything due to worries of offending someone. So it would be nice to pare down to just those I would want to share with, but doubt I will take that step.

On Facebook you can create multiple lists/groups of friends and then use them in your privacy settings so for example you could have a "Close Friends" groups and set up your privacy settings so that, by default, e.g. wall posts are only visible to that group.

I have recently created "Aquaintances", "Friends" and "Close Friends" groups even though I only have 4 Facebook friends.

If they fit categories neatly, I could - but it more closely resembles the windshield after flying through a cloud of Venn diagrams.

I was hoping this was more literal.

I'd have a few people I'd actually like to delete. I'd even do a DoD wipe over their storage sectors for good measure.

I am in limbo about whether to cull my Facebook list or not.

I like the number of friends that I have, but the conncections that I had with probably a third or half of these people was spurious at best, even when I knew them. There are also people that I am on the bubble about removing, for example those that I had some connection to at one time, but I limit my interactions due to their now criminal background. Probably 10% of my Facebook friends would fall in that category.

I added many people from my past so I could quell my curiousity of what they were up to. When I saw that most of these lead a pretty mundane life, I lost interest in them.
