In social situations I find that because i am very average height that restricts me from being social and butting in etc..

basicly i hate having to look up to tall guys because it makes me feel inferior. i just don't feel comftable and its not that i can't be social its just that my height can really ruin my confidence.

god if i was 6'4 it would be heaven but i am only 5'10.

is thier any way i can work around this? I failed my work experience because I was surrouned by bigger men and that ticked me off and sidetracked me.

i have no problem in large crowds its just that it makes me panick when i see a lot of people taller than me and this is wear the whole paranoia and anxiety sets in.

any advice?

Yeah. Learn a relaxation technique, relax, and stop getting upset because people are taller than you (it's a choice you make).

I doubt it, not directly. Why do you care about your height, because you feel threatened by larger people? If you are inclined to obsessive compulsive thinking, then that could be a factor.

I don't see how the question is relevant.

They probably learn to accept their problems, or deal with them. Which is what we all do.

How do you think I could take small steps to deal with being 5'10?

Being 5'10 isn't the problem. I'm 5'9ish and I'm quite happy with my height. The problem is feeling inferior. Maybe you'd feel the same if you were 20ft tall.

You could start by thinking about whether your feelings of inferiority are valid. How about every time you get a feeling of inferiority, you consciously bring to mind a time when you did something good, or recall something you've been successful at. If you can't think of anything, ask other's what they think your good points are. If you have none, think about how you could develop some.

If Hitler were 6'4, and Napoleon were 6'4, and Bill Gates were 6'4 you might have a valid argument.

But all of these men were extremely influencial (yes, I know Hitler was evil) and weren't tall.

The problem isn't your physical stature, it's your mental self image.

You might benefit from knowing that tall people aren't naturally self confident either. I had a friend who was 6'4 and he used to complain how he wished he weren't so tall because he had social anxiety and he didn't like standing out in crowds.

My father was 5' 10" and it was a very good height indeed.
He was a good man, good provider, good father.
Had a PHD and many interests, hobbies, friends.
