Has anyone worked out what the dots are for in emails? I can't tell if someone is giving me the snub or something else. As an example:

Code:
Hi x...

I'll be in the office tomorrow until 15.30 if you want to drop in. I'm at the conference on Wednesday... away on Friday... back in office on Tueasday.

Thanks Bob

From Wikipedia

Ellipsis (plural ellipses; from the Ancient Greek: ἔλλειψις, élleipsis, "omission") is a mark or series of marks that usually indicate an intentional omission of a word in the original text. An ellipsis can also be used to indicate a pause in speech, an unfinished thought, or, at the end of a sentence, a trailing off into silence (aposiopesis). When placed at the end of a sentence, the ellipsis can also inspire a feeling of melancholy longing. The ellipsis calls for a slight pause in speech.

Yeah... it's just fragments of thought in the sentences! :)

I do that a lot when I want someone to take a pause when reading...it gives them time to re-evaluate the words.

I seem to do it automatically now...

They're used in order to show that a thought isn't finished or a pause in a sentence...
