The house I stay in is my friend's. He is quite the opposite of me...a very outgoing, easy-going guy with tons of friends. There are always people in and out of the house. I really don't mind that. It's a chance to interact with new people from time to time. A new girl moved in about 6 months ago. I've grown to tolerate her. Two days ago, however, FOUR other friends are in town and are all staying here for a MONTH on account of a big annual conference going on. Seven people and three dogs. I am freaking out. I've been hiding in my room for two days trying to make as many excuses to go run errands as possible.

Sometimes I don't mind meeting new people...but this is too much at once. They're loud and intrusive. It's painful and awkward to talk to them. My roommate thinks I'm being melodramatic and keeps harassing me to not be so antisocial. How am I going to deal with this for a whole month?? I feel like I'm living in a zoo!

I would consider renting an apartment. Or perhaps if that is too expensive you might want to move into a cardboard box. If you're lucky you might be able to find one with built in air conditioning.
