I look like for someone who is easygoing for the most part, has a good sense of humour, is rather fun-loving, is a nice person who doesn't do things like call people names or put them down. I also like people who accept people for who there are.

I dislike people who get pleasure out of inducing emotional pain on other people. Like, people who call people names for fun. I don't understand why they do it, and it just doesn't seem right.

How about you?

Ideally, I would look for someone who is simple, active, and athletic. Of course, when I'm feeling cluttered and lazy, that's who I look for during those times.

Someone who is loyal, nice, ad funny.

Yea, that's lame about the bullies, but what does that have to do with your original question?

Someone who is honest, has some amount of respect for me, and a good sense of humor.

I generally go with 'someone who I feel comfortable with'.
This whole philosophy on friendship has served me well so far.

I'm only comfortable with about 5% of people, generally speaking if I am comfortable enough to get along with them then they make good friends. I tend to find that after a certain length of time, because of my quirks that make me a bit of a challenge to get along with, if they are still around they are worthy of being friends - give them the chance and many people will show themselves as jerks pretty early on. As so often my being quiet and strange means people bad-mouth me, if they're good enough to get to know me despite all they hear I also take this as being a sign of someone who may be a good friend.

I don't do 'troubled' or negative people - I've been friends with such people in the past, but the problem is although you can be there for such people and try to help them, in the end they will drag you down unless you pick yourself over them - don't get me wrong if a friend is having a hard time I'll stick by them, but some people are nothing but negative and I don't have the patience for such people any more.
