You didn't exactly give people long to reply!

There's a meetup that happens every month run from Aspievillage which I think you already know about.

Also if you can travel to Stourbridge and are free during weekdays they have a group called 'No limits' that is a social meetup thing. If you're interested I can try and find the details for you.

Cool! If you guys sign up to Aspie Village and then introduce yourselves, people will let you know about the meetups. There's usually a thread started each month about the meetups (which happen the last Saturday of each month as long as it doesn't get cancelled).

I don't think i'd ever be able to turn up for one of these meetups :)

I'm only in stoke on trent though so not far, just it's extremely unlikely that I could ever manage it. Meeting multiple aspies would be too much. I mean that's actually true xd

I was told I couldnt join aspievillage unless I knew people already on the forum and had been recomended by them. Doesnt sound very friendly to me, I think WP meet up would be better.

Hullo Golden Ben. I'm glad to hear you went to a Village meetup and enjoyed it. I would have gone too, but forgot about it. I would meet up with you for a chat sometime Ben.

you need to have a good job and a car to join there I hear, or be very pretty or social. they have some criteria.

Once, in 2007, I went to an AV meetup at some lakes. There were some head mods, who chose all the people who were confident, attractive, had expensive clothes or had come in a big car. they chose all these people to be new mods. Aspie Village is an elites only site.

That's just your perception. Had you considered that they'd actually picked people who'd been a member of the site for a long time, had a good post history, and had demonstrated an ability to respond well to others?
Just because you've got personal issues, don't put other people off. I don't wear expensive clothes, and I'm not especially attractive, and they've been nothing but welcoming to me.

Well, once years ago, I came to this site telling British people about "village", and saying I made friends there and people should go join it, and they told me off and said Iwould make it too busy and wanted me to stop. So I assume they would thank me for putting people off. I only wanted people to enjoy the friendship I had found. this was around 2005.

I can't speak for the people who were on the site then, as I only joined last year, but things change. People leave sites and others join. You're going on your personal bad experience six years ago!
