First I say it's rude to ask people a question and then get upset with their answer and go accusing them of being a jerk and bullies or being snide. I already do say it's rude so problem solved for me. Those people are the rude ones so I have nothing to worry about. Since everyone has their own standards on what is rude and what isn't and they all decide on what is rude, I made this one up so I say this is rude.

Let's see, how do I begin hmmm

I think people need to be more direct with each other, too often we try to do the "polite" thing but it turns out that this is even ruder than just coming out and saying something, it hurts worse in the long run.

1: When you ask me if I want something and I say no, it is certainly polite to follow up with, "are you sure." Because maybe I'm simply reluctant to accept your offer and your follow up implies that you are serious about your offer. But once I say no a second time, don't persist until I finally, A) Scream and walk away, B)Kill you, C)A and B.

2: Not having the same opinion, or not subscribing to a way of life as someone else does not make you in anyway superior. Stop implying that it does.

Things I would change....

-In order to make friends with someone, all you'd have to do is simply ask, "would you like to be my friend?" No obfuscating rituals or games in which you have to use hints to infer intent.

-Same with romantic interests.

-Women would be able to make the first move on a guy that interests her and wouldn't have to rely on outdated notions of not looking "too aggressive".

-People would do what they say they'll do. No empty promises.

-People would put away all the shallow pretense and approach each other with genuineness.

-You could wear anything you wanted regardless of fashion dictates.

If someone passes gas, or acts on some other biological reaction that can't be avoided like desperately having to go to pee or poop, we don't make it seem like a disgusting act that only lesser beings perform.

I'd make the blitzer from 'Men in Black' so that people would forget when I did a faux pas.
Seriously... someone should make such a thing.

If the question is how to change socialization, then I would say that whatever you are going to say, that's what you say. Everything is acceptable, and nothing is off limits. So that means whatever indulgent fantasies you want, you would ask for. If the other person doesn't want it, they would say no, and that would be that. Then again, if everyone told the truth all the time, you wouldn't even have that type of thing in the first place. Heck, for that matter, if everyone had an incentive to tell the truth, then there wouldn't be any crime.

Now, if the question is how I would change others to fit me, then it's simple. Everyone gives me all their taxes, and at the end of the year I give a 50% refund. Everyone wins! Of course, society would break down...but who cares about that? I'm making money here, and you all are saving money!

There would be no "fake" conversations. This includes:

-Asking questions you already know the answer to
-Being excessively polite
-Not saying what you actually mean for whatever reason
-Pretending to act like someone you are not
-A lot more things that I haven't thought about yet

There's no need to change anyone. If I cared to I could always move to Israel...they're a rather direct, no nonsense society.

However I'd much rather that humans were more altruistic and considerate.

for me....

Wear what you want when you want. Clothes are ment to save you from the elements not to look good.

Fire fighters/cops/teachers will make the big bucks and be holding out for more cash. Sports/hollywood will be making pleas for hand outs...

dumb people will not be allowed to have kids.

there will be areas for dating, finding a date, making friends only areas so no games on what is going on.

The news will be the truth and cover more then death and sadness.

Keep your word or lose your job.

politicians will be forced out becuase they are not doing the will of the people. not because they cheated on their wife or did nude pictures.

Hmm... in my ideal world, I think socialising would be run on more or less the same lines, though I reckon I'd do away with exaggerated gender roles (e.g. the 'asking out' scenario that nirrti_rachelle mentioned previously), and the social expectation that people should always answer with 'Fine', 'Not so bad', 'Good' or some variation on the above when asked how they are.

If two people want to have a conversation, they briefly make eye contact to establish that they are talking to each other. Then they can turn away, look back occasionally, whatever they want. None of this socially-sactioned lifetime staring contest we humans have going.

If you show up late to work consistently, don't do your job, you're gone. No, seriously, Leave. Now. No giving tons of chances because they haven't actually done anything outrageous like run naked through the business. Yes, this has happened, and they were finally fired for that.

Driving is dangerous. Respect that. Doesn't matter how late you are, you threaten the lives of fellow humans by speeding and not using turn signals. If you are caught drunk driving, automatic suspension of license for a year. Second offense, permanent loss of license.

Also what mesona said. Lots of that.

No more speeding and tail gating and running red lights, I don't care if you have a sick relative in a hospital and your lame excuse is "She could die any moment so I want to be there quick to see her just in case she passes away." Well what if she dies while you were on your way driving like a maniac endangering your life and other peoples lives on the road? You have sped there for nothing. Even if someone is dying, still no excuse. Laws are laws. They can still die while you are on your way driving like an idiot.

I'd ban smoking from bus stops and train stops.

I'd get rid of the small talk nonsense.

No more bias news.

There be happy things on the news too than just sad depressing stuff.

Restaurants would have rooms for families so people wouldn't have to deal with screaming and crying babies and kids making too much noise.

Movie theaters would have family movie showings where families can bring their babies and young kids and they can make the noise all they want and mothers don't have to leave the auditorium when their baby cries or when their kid starts making noise and not stop.

There be family airlines and airlines for adults only.

I bring back the crying rooms for movie theaters.

Yep - I'd get rid of tact and "p**** footing around". :)
