On facebook, I do not do chain letters. I think they are stupid, but sometimes, there are "fake" chain letters that come across that I will put as my status to make fun of the "real" chain letters. I put this one up today:

Quote:
Dear friends, please copy & paste this to your status if you are constantly being asked to copy & paste something to your status by friends who copy & paste things to their status. Many people won't copy & paste this, but my true friends will copy & paste it because you know this was copied & pasted from a dear friend in need of more crap to copy & paste.

I got some people liking it, but two people I respect greatly (NTs) were greatly offended and one said:
Quote:
The only time I've copied & pasted someothing was to help shut down a hateful FB page. And no one asked me to.

Which I agreed that what he did was right. It was hateful and needed to be shut down, then I got this one from a very respected person:
Quote:
I have nothing against copying and pasting except when someone tries to get me to do so. It's too chain-mail-ish for my tastes.

I have no idea what I did. He just told me I put chain mail on his wall. This was a joke. It even called itself crap. I mean, it is a joke. I thought these two would get that. I don't know what I did.

I don't think you did anything wrong. Just tell them it was a joke.

I don't see any implication by them that you did anything wrong. I think they were just sharing their views on the subject you presented to them....I don't detect any hostility at you on their part.

I agree. They don't seem angry. They are just explaining why they will not copy and paste it to their wall. Technically, it is a chain letter, even if a joking one. I first saw it on somebody's wall in August. I gave it the Like thumb but didn't copy it to my own wall. Nevertheless it showed up on a couple other friends' walls too. Now here it is on yours, a few weeks later. So it is actually a pretty durable chain letter.

Just post that it was a joke on your wall. You didn't go anything wrong.

I honestly think it was a pretty amusing joke, cause stuff like that really is kind of stupid, except perhaps more meaningful ones meant to honor the people of a disaster or something. Not sure how they did not realize what it was, because it seems pretty obvious to me on the first read without your comments beforehand.

They definitely aren't offended. They are just stating their opinions on the issue of chain-mail letters...it has nothing to do with you. #2 is even blatantly agreeing with you in that he thinks they are stupid too.

Thank you for at least listening to me. At the time I wrote this, I was really upset (crying, end of the world - poor me. Oh my, boo hoo, and all that). I know exactly what my problem way. It was not them. It was me. I was absolutely and totally exhausted. My past two weeks have been total ****. I mean, I have really been through more in the past two weeks than most people go through in a year. The next day, I fell asleep at 8. I never fall asleep at 8. That is a sign of the Apocalypse. Basically, I saw things that were not there. I do see how I saw them, but I know these people and it is out of both their characters to do that (which is why I got upset, which if I would have thought about, I should not have). I am better now. A bit embarrassed, but better. I just had a little online meltdown.

Wow...that really sucks. :( We all have burnouts from time to time, and an unfortunate consequence is that we tend to overthink and second guess things. Fortunately, it is not the end of the world...you just need to take things at your own pace and perhaps even disconnect from the world a bit. Be good to yourself, and hopefully things will turn around. :) Take care!
