I found a therapist who works with Applied Behaviour Analysis which is used on Autistic patients
I have just send her a email asking her whether she works with adults too.

She runs a school for autistic children and i have seen her facebook group
She replied stating that she does work with adults and i should call her up.

Has anyone here taken ABA help from any therapist does it work for Aspie's
But firstly i will need to get a assessment done from her whether i really suffer from AS

Do you really want therapy meant to criticize any abnormal behavior.....in an attempt to mold you into a better 'normal' person? That's what I've heard that therapy is like.

I haven't but I have a child undergoing what is (incorrectly called) ABA and also once went to a presentation from one of the practitioners from our Govt health services who worked with Autistic adults and used behavioural modification (ABA) principles. I hadn't realised it was used with adults before that.

With someone who is high functioning it is used specifically to help you attain the things you want and may involve you doing a substantial amount of the ABA components yourself e.g. self reinforcement for example. A couple of the case studies with successful outcomes he discussed were an HFA individual who was a successful artist but who had quite bad self harm issues, so he used behavioural management to keep control of that. Another was a young man with Aspergers who very much wanted a girlfriend, so they worked with him to give him the skills to be able to talk to and engage girls and things like that (he got a girlfriend).
He also talked about using it to help institutionalised adults, some of them quite old e.g. in their sixties, to learn self help skills, things like making cups of tea.
So it seemed to help some people.

OTOH I have talked to people on here who have had people try ABA with them and it has been worse than useless, but then when I asked for details I realised it was implemented so poorly as to be a bad joke.

seems like ABA is useless.

But today my Asst. Manager at workplace was saying that my interpersonal skills are very weak and she was concerned about my continuation letter for next year and also about appraisal.

I dont know what to do and was thinking some psychotherapist could atleast help me out with social skills development

Depends on whether your social skills deficits are due to Aspergers i.e. trouble understanding and interpreting social behaviour such as body language and cues, or something else like anxiety. If you have Aspergers I don't know but I suppose a psychotherapist would be no help in learning things. I don't think ABA is the answer either, but usually people who work with people with Autism might use ABA but also have other methods like teaching social scripts, learning cues etc, I think you should talk to that therapist you mentioned anyway about what you need and if she can help or point you in the right direction.
I suspect a psychotherapist will just take your money, they have some strange ideas.
Good luck.

Ok i came across this website about a leading hospital here providing psychotheraphy it maybe useful for me

Counselling - helps in patients to resolve problems and alleviate distress and helps in coping with difficult situations.

Behaviour therapy - aims at changing behaviour by looking at the ABC (antecedents, behaviour and consequences) of a particular problem

Cognitive behaviour therapy - deals with the relationship between thinking, feeling and behaviour and aims at correcting the maladaptive patterns of thinking. It usually takes 12 to 16 sessions

Problem solving therapy – a very structured 6 step therapy of actively analyzing and solving a given problem.

Psychoanalytical psychotherapy - this is a very in-depth psychotherapy which looks at the origins of present problems in trauma and unresolved issues in patient’s childhood and helps at developing insight that is how unconscious factors affect conscious thoughts and behaviours. It is usually a long term therapy.

the last one seems very relevant for me since i had bad childhood
