Yes, I have always gotten along better with animals. Unfortunately, I have gotten more sensitive to animal fur over the years. Also my health problems have gotten worse over the years, making it too difficult for me to look after a pet now. And my trailer park is infested with fleas! Every cat, dog, wild animal, and wild bird has them. When I took in an abandoned cat for a while several years ago, she had them and gave them to me and to my trailer. She wouldn't let me flea bath her, or put on a flea collar, or put on those liquid flea drops. Flea powder bothers my lungs. Also, the cat drove me crazy by not staying off the kitchen table and counters, and I was unable to afford a pet at the time, so she had to go. I tried to find a home for her, but no luck, so she had to go to the shelter. I was able to get rid of the fleas in here by sprinkling salt and baking powder around. The tiny crystals get into the joints in the bug bodies and shreds them, causing them to bleed to death. It took two treatments, because some of the eggs hatched out after the adults were dead, and they needed the treatment, too.
This all happened several years ago, but I am still mad at the neighbors who moved away, leaving the cat behind! However, they took the dog! ):-(
I'm sorry I couldn't keep the cat, but between her fleas, itchy fur, not staying off the food surfaces, my financial problems at the time, and my irregular schedule due to my health problems, she had to go. Although my financial state is better now, all the other issues remain, so a pet is no longer an option for me, unless it's a pet rock.
Hey! If any burglars ever break in I can sic the pet rock on 'em. POW!
