There was a time that I wanted things to be quite private, but now that I have seen how people are when they are anonymous I want it almost outlawed.
If anonymity were outlawed, we wouldn't hear about a lot of bad things (like corruption or illegality) inside institutions and corporations. People also wouldn't be able to let off steam about issues in their lives like their jobs, or their families, or bad neighbours, or their pornography/sexual habits and so on.
Anonymity is a neutral device. It can be used for good or bad, but anonymity on its own is very useful.
