How do you proceed with a job interview? Should you tell your employer that you have autism?

It depends on where you are on the spectrum and the job. By default, I would answer No, do not tell your employer.

If you are good at your job and can perform at full capacity (maybe even better than your future collages) then it will be better to just let time take it's course. People will notice you're different, but will never say anything to you, just let them speak and you can continue your life.

If you're high-functioning and ASD will obviously get in the way of your performance, then it might be important for your employer to be informed. Again, it depends on the job. After all, they are paying you to be a fully competent worker who will meet their expectation of an employee for (X) company. Do be aware that the second you do say you have a disability, you are then seen as someone who is just that; "disabled", and cannot perform to full capacity, thus does not deserve full pay, etc.

Personally, I had rather be honest and up-front first, than to have everything crash down later, with other people stressed because they should've been told certain information before hand.

May I ask, what kind of job is it ?
