I was lurking on a Hong Kong forum where netizens were gossiping rumors about how in the 80s/90s a movie producer/mob boss kept harassing an actress, promising her that he would tailor-make good movie roles for her as long as she was willing to have sex with him. When she rejected him, he allegedly raped her and then convinced her company to not to assign any role to her while keeping her on contract. Many netizens said that the actress was at fault. ("She should have slept with the mob boss! So stupid!")
Anyway, one netizen wrote something that left a deep impression on my mind because it reminds me of my own experiences... This statement is so painful to read because it seems so true to me. It goes something like "This society saddens me. If you are naive, people condemn you for having low EQ. If you are cunning, people praise you for having high EQ."
