Back in 2007 this actor called james nesbitt came into college to do a talk about one of this films.

I was sitting in the lecture and one of my friends asked the actor "why did you do the film" and James Nesbitt looked at my friend with a very strikingly serious facial expression (like he was scowling) looking at my friend straight in the eyes and gave my friend a blunt one worded answer saying "script"

I understand that actors can sometimes can be a little big headed and arrogant but why do you think the actor reacted to my friend that way (my friend also has Asperger's as well.)

I don't think it had anything to do with your friend at all. It might have been a question that actor was used to and was getting sick of hearing.

Sounds like Nesbitt was caught off guard. The "why" of doing a film is for money, but judiciously, you can't say that because it'd seem you could care less about the movie and it's just a paycheck. Actors are required, by the studios, to go on promotional tours. Can you imagine if they answered such a question honestly? They'd never work in Hollywood again.
