I have an issue with my posture. When I try to have good posture, I look like I have a stick up my butt. Then when I don't, I slump. Anyone deal with this?

I've heard inversion tables are quite helpful for this, as a techie I have some neck problems, but I have my own favorite theraputic thingy: slacklines! I get to learn a circus act while working on my skeletal troubles, and it's pretty cheap for how much it helps.

my physical therapist told me a good posture exercise was to simply flatten oneself against a back wall as though sucked into it on one's whole posterior skin surface or like a magnetic attraction, several times daily. this I do and my posture [when I remember not to slouch] is pretty good.

yeah, I have posture problems. Most of it is a hunched back and slouchy, forward lean in posture, the way I walk is also often off balance and foot placement is random and rarely inline. The issues developed simply that I have to watch where I place my feet while walking to avoid trips and falls. Sorting it out often requires seeing ahead which makes the balance worse.

Yes, and it improved considerably after I started taking some beginner ballet classes.

Used to have a lot of them once.
Now I have less.
I learned to walk (almost) decently and I also sit properly now. Unless I'm writing or eating.
I was told that when I write I almost lay my head on the table and therefore I have a crooked posture. When I eat I can't sit with my legs down, and I have to put one of my feet (usually the left one) on the chair and my knee is up in the air. My mother says I sit like Near from Death Note
I can't eat in any other way while sitting.

Yes, especially when I was a kid, I forced myself to have good posture all the time though and now it comes naturally. But it's starting to get bad again because of my scoliosis.

Yes, yes. I work on it, though.

Yes, I have poor posture and recently saw a Physiotherapist about it. Bottom line is that while I was not diagnosed with scoliosis I do have a curved spine and grew 1.5 feet in a very short period of time as a kid. As a result, I could not stand up straight and guess what that led to in school? Anyone? The OPs description is not far off my own experiences and I will add as an exceptionally tall person who dresses like a teenager, when I stand up people don't bully me but are the opposite: scared and intimidated by me. That's what makes it so bloody hard.

My situation exactly. It gets very uncomfortable too, because sometimes I try to force my posture to be correct and end up with an annoying throbbing tingle in my spine. I'm actually slouching now; my back was straightened earlier, but then my sides stared going numb. :/ liiife

Yes, I have problems with this all the time especially in front of a lot of people or a camera. I don't look weird as a person but my facial expressions and posture really make people weird out or make rude comments.
