So, I've been working on a new website to replace AspieAffection, because it's pretty outdated, and I wanted somewhere for people who wanted to make friends as well as date.

The result is Aspies.me . It's a site for Aspies who want to make friends or look for love. Just like AspieAffection it's based on existing, online dating software, but I've adapted it for the range of things people might be looking for.

I think it will be easier to use than the Friendship board and the eligible odd-bods thread because you can search by age, sex, whether they are looking for friendship or a relationship. My favourite features are;

-A world map showing the locations of all members who have set their location (you can do it to the nearest city)
-Groups, for example for cities, regions, colleges and even fan clubs, bringing people with the same interest together
-You can set what you're looking for, then change it later (if you get into a relationship, for example)

All members are checked by a real person before they can communicate with others, and while it isn't perfect, I hope it's a really safe platform for people to get to know one another. There are lots of privacy settings too!

I'd really like it if everyone will;

-Register, and put yourself on the map, whether you are looking for friends, pen pals or a relationship
-Add a group for your region, college or an interest

At the moment, the site is very empty, but when we have users, people will be more confident to join!

I love WP (I read a lot, even though I don't post much), and I definitely don't want to complete with it. I want this site to be a place to meet people who know how you feel more easily than the really long threads allow!

You've been working on this project for some time.

To get the word out, you may want to look at the Skype group(s) discussed on the "General" sub-forum (http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp5776545.html#5776545), since I would presume that there would be some people interested there.
