i had joined whatsapp for offce use but my hubby's cousins added me there and created a group.
i started interacting on the group and we all started attending outings together

before that all the cousins were cold and distant

and now scenario changed they all have again gone back to be
somewhat cold
there isnt any interactive conversation
the group is slowly fading
i feel conscious replying there

my fear is that when the cousins gather together for a outing
they might exclude me and seeing their pics there i will spiral more into depression

what u guys feel....should i leave whatsapp.
there are no other friends on there

i remember when mxit was popular, and my friend added me to his. he had lots of contacts on his phone, and i only had him. i would see a bunch of folks all chatting to others on their phone instead of talking to one another, even though they're sitting right next to one another. to me it just didn't feel right. i couldn't make real friends let alone virtual friends.

i don't know anything about whatsapp but i assume it's similar.

the problem i have with conforming to social norms like using social media is that i know i don't fit in, nor do i have any confidence to fit in. i also know that those people who use social media aren't like me, so trying to join with them will only increase my feelings of being an outcast. i didn't want to be added on mxit and i just forgot about it and how much everyone else was using it.

i think if it makes you more comfortable to leave it, then leave it. seeing outgoing people posting pics of themselves makes me depressed too. so i avoid using social networking.

hey thats a good blunt answer
you are right this social networking would just make us feel more unwanted
and i remember my hubbys cousins mentioning during a meeting
that i am quiet and lifeless
but on whatsapp i write nonstop
they were teasing me saying that i turn on a different personality there
