I am getting a little fed up with my mom. I ask her questions, genuine questions, about flaws in Christianity, not trying to be rude, but if I am going to believe in something, I might as well have a good foundation in it, not just believe in it for s**ts and giggles like most people do (I am split between Deism and Christianity). In addition, I am sleeping on a cot in my grandmother's office, which I appreciate, but my grandparents are getting older and slightly buggy. In addition, my mom goes on about conspiracy theories (and not even one's that make sense), and we have been staying there for a year and a half. I plan on moving in with a friend, and I will give him $100 a month for 1 room out of two rooms, furnished, and it will cost $450 a month, everything included. He is quirky, and when he broke up with his girl, he went kinda mental, although normally he is just quirky, and does not have many things too bad about him. I have a job where I earn at least a hundred a month, but it goes up in the summer. I also get financial aid from college, and thus that will help me for a few. Should I move out? I am 19, going on twenty, and going on my 3rd year.

Depends on your financial situation, work situation, location and transportation needs. Its a much more complicated issue than just the two environments.

I make around 10.80 USD an hour, work at least 2 6 hour days a month (more during the summer), I work like 1 mile away, and work as a supplier to Wal-Mart.

I tried that once. I got a bedroom and half of the living for $130 a week. It wasn't too bad except for a slight lack of privacy. After six months I got into an argument with the guy and got kicked and now living with my family seems even more horrible. They treat me like I'm a child.

I should move out again but they are going to suspend my licence due to driving infractions and I'm not sure I can function independently without driving.

I have spend the night with this friend before, and so I have spent a decent amount of time with him. I also helped him through hard times in life. I am still debating.

if the gains in independence seem worth the financial costs, why not give it a try. just don't burn your bridges.

Well, if you feel you can trust him...

Do it now so you won't end up regretting that you didn't move out (for the first time) until you were 25.

Aside from the problems I mentioned above, independent living isn't that hard. I had the same lifestyle as I'd had at home except that I'd go to the supermarket once a week.

About the only problems I see is transportation (which while the town is small and I can get a ride from my mom, I still eventually want to get a car) and food in the budget. I might start looking for another job to pay for the food maybe.
