Have ever been with a buck of people and you succeeded on saying something you thought was really funny- you then here someone laugh really loud but then you find out they were laughing at something someone else said?

Oh the transparent folly of people who would honestly have me believe that what I said wasn't funny by saying they were laughing at something else. *sheesh

It's really just about being self-conscious and trying too hard to impress people. See if you're like me, you're often more focused on trying to please whomever you're with, rather than the actual experience of being funny. I guess this might sound a little abstract so I'll try to find some link to a page explaining this more.
