How on earth do I explain to my aunt that I cant attend her birthday party because im totally burnt out by socialising?Im a terrible nephew because I never call or make an effort to interact and now I live within 20 mins of my aunts theyre really angry that I never go to see them :?

Tell her exactly that. Then, tell her that you would love to visit briefly with her before the others arrive. When the others to arrive, excuse yourself after 15 or 20 minutes. She will appreciate your effort to spend some alone time with her.
