Dealing with egoists

I know a girl pretty well who I chat with between classes at uni. Were good friends but the problem is that she has an intolerable ego. How do you deal with someone who is all wounded pride and petulance?

Just good friends.Im one of those guys who gets on better with women than men. Third party would work I guess but she doesnt really know anyone in uni at that level and we dont really talk outside lectures

when she starts to show an ego, do not retaliate. This only shows you are trying to compete with her. If you do want to compete a little make sure.....DEAD SURE... that you have the facts to back up to what ever you say. I MEAN WHERE YOU FOUND IT WHAT PAGE NUMBER WHO SAID IT AND WHY.

I am not playing here. Egoists are real fun to talk to and converse with when you are both on the same page. If you do not know what you are talking about....she will tear you to pieces and lose respect.

Wow, this is an interesting question. I don't think I'm very knowledgeable about this sort of thing, but what about being very open and straight-forward about any mistakes you happen to make, or casually mention some differences of opinion you've dealt with graciously in the past? That way, she can observe that it's no big deal to be wrong and admit it, and her delicate ego doesn't have to be challenged just yet.

2. They will never take the fall when they do something wrong

Thanks for the responses guys. Another question is how can you differentiate between someone with a sensitive ego and someone with an inflated ego? Sometimes they can actually look the same!
