I met this woman in Spring 2012 and our friendship was strong until Fall 2013 when it petered out. We became friends again last spring. The same thing is happening this fall and also she recently moved to another unit. I worry we won't be friends anymore by next year. This could be because of the seasons or do "thoughts turn to love in the spring"?
Earlier she declared she was "going out" with a guy who lived on her unit but she said we were good friends. Perhaps I'll meet up with her at upcoming events.
We could do "K.Q." (known quantity) dating where two friends start dating after they know about each other. I would like this in the future, perhaps by next spring, if we are still friends.

It sounds like you have a friend. Most people don't want to risk the possibility of ruining a friendship by trying to turn it into something more. I would suggest dating other people.
