I am very afraid to talk to my family (parents especially) about what my goals are. They would like me to get a job and help people, but the only goal I have in life is to make a lot of money. How do I explain this? I feel that they will get mad if I just say it. They want me to go to college, but I have other plans on making money that I believe are better.

Well, if you get started on that money making scheme now, it will be easier to convince your parents you can support yourself when you announce to them that you're not going to attend college. Of course, if you've made a bunch of money you won't need their approval. However, if your "making a bunch of money without an education or job" plan doesn't pay out quick enough, or involves living in your parents' house while they bankroll your fledgling business, then you will have a very hard time expressing your goals in a way they will find agreeable.
