Hi:
I am on a volunteer committee and I would like to know the best way to recruit and advertise for volunteers for a big event. The event is a month and a half out and so far only a few people said yes but not one has signed up on the site yet.

How do I invite people without getting to overly anxious?

What is your population base for people to ask? Is it the general public and you have to advertise or is it people who are in a group already volunteering there or working there, or is it a list of people who contribute that you call? I would do it differently each way. Also can you give me an example of what it is and what you need them to do so I can word it like I would?

I have always seemed to have trouble getting people to come to events I've thrown and never understood why. I've planned huge birthday and graduation parties which disappointingly small numbers actually showing up. One time I hosting an asperger's meeting at my house and cooked a bunch of food and only one person showed up. I have pretty interesting friends none the less some that are active and throw big events them selfs and have always been successful in having huge turnouts. I've always never quite understood what the secret reasoning to this is.
