so called neurotypicals are perfectly crackable. on a recent trip overseas, my small talk repulsion became so strong that, by refusing to take part, i accidentally found a direct way into their psyche. it’s all about eye contact and intention, it seems that severe social panic can be converted into a “trust black hole” that triggers a mutual desire to connect of almost mythic proportions. every time it happened, social conventions were instantly dropped, as if we were surrounded by a bubble of intimacy, with no need for verbal communication. i believe the difference in cultural backgrounds helped, as people had no preconceived ideas on how to process my behavior. has anyone had similar experiences?

 Kind of a habit of mine lately... I think it's healthy to hang out in other peoples' brains, within reason at least. I didn't encounter the same trapdoor passage as you though. I basically just act NT with eye contact & all that plus whatever for about three seconds while simultaneously returning to my usual professorial factoids & reverse engineering whatever may be on the table.

It's fun to teach people random facts out of nowhere. Where it goes nobody knows...

I'm not sure what you mean, exactly. But it sounds interesting.
