Should I have asked for her cell phone number?
I was talking to a cashier at one of my favorite comic book stores. This person I've seen working at the store pretty much every time I've gone down to it (It's in Austin while I live in Temple) and she's very nice. I talked to her until she said "Have a good day". I was too shy to ask but I wonder if I should've asked her for her cell phone number. My friendship circle is very small and I wish it was bigger but I am scared of rejection. Should I have taken the extra mile or is it not appropriate to do so in that sort of setting?
I would say not yet. Talk to her a few more times. Find out if you have things in common. Guide the conversation towards comic strip conventions or whatever. Or movies in your area. Or perhaps even collaborating on a creative endeavor.
If she seems to like talking to you after all this, then I'd ask for her full name and person to Friend on Facebook.
