If an acquaintance sees you and says 'are you winning' and that's all how do you respond? I never know what to say

Never heard that expression before.

Got me as to how to respond.

Must be a new trendy greeting. Like back circa 1990 guys would say "workin' hard? Or hardly workin'?" to each other. Caught on like wild fire, and then quickly got old, and disappeared like wild fire.

People only ask me that if I'm playing a game.

I'd say "I'm trying" or "I wish".

I'm sure that's how Charlie Sheen, who originated this, would've responded LOL. I've never been asked this, but my friends and I make fun of it :-)

My respond is "I don't care, I want some chocolate or ice cream, or go back to knitting or drawing, and I'm bored".

I hate competitions.
Competitions don't put me to my fullest, it puts me to do things half-heartedly not because I'm being 'gentle', simply because I don't care and I want to get over things with regardless the outcome.

I'd just tell those people that I always win.

It sounds like something that idiot Trump might come up with.

My answer would be: "I'm alive; therefore, I'm not losing."

Realistically I would just respond in confusion, "what?!?!?"

but the response to the question would be 'hahahaha no."

"Are you winning?", in my experience, means one of two things (other than the literal):

1) are you managing to progress with a task (that you have recently discussed as being potentially problematic/difficult)?
2) are you well? (as in a general greeting, not with the expectation of a detailed or meaningful answer)

I'm in the UK, so it's possible that, if you are in another country, it could have other connotations.

Do like DJ Khaled, and put on a smug face as you explain that "All I do is win".
