I just don't give a flying crap!
Yes, I don't know when a conversation should end. Yes, I can't keep track of topics as they change. Yes, I fixate on the same thing for sometimes weeks at a time. I'm doing my best to compensate. However, anyone who can't deal with it can go POUND SAND!! !
I think many Aspies/Auties would suffer less if they learn to say that more often.

I know what you mean. I usually have to ask more than twice and I have the same problem with not knowing when a conversation doesn't end. I've had to listen and ask what the ppl I'm with were talking about. If they're too proud than that's their problem but I know what you mean. Have tried telling these ppl that you have AS?
I don't know what else to say but It sometimes depends on which ppl I'm with. I have some ppl that're understanding of it and others who don't care. That doesn't mean you're slow, in fact your interests or whatever help you in some areas contrary to NTs. Anyway, that's all I can put in. I find these little quirks to deal with too.

Hmm, the point of a friendly conversation is for both sides to enjoy themselves. If I didn't enjoy talking to someone because they never let me talk about the things I found interesting, only about the things they like, I wouldn't want to keep talking to them.
I'm sorry if that's a bit harsh, but that's reality.
I have learned that a certain segment of society thinks the necessity of common courtesy is only for people they like. I have learned that giving them a taste of their own medicine and dispensing with any pretense of civility is the best course of action.
I just figured it out a couple of months ago. That might help in many cases. However, that would only give ammunition to an adversary that's abusive to begin with. Some think being socially impaired is an invitation to cheat you. The only problem is that one of my obsessions is suing people and filing truthful (but perhaps petty) complaints with government agencies.

OMG! I love that expression! "Pound sand"! I LOVE IT! I've never heard that before! I'm gonna start using that!
Anyway, I've never found stuff like that to be a problem. I mean, yes, I lose track of a conversation because I space out, but usually when people say my name, I just say, "Wait... What?" and they'll tell me what was said, and the conversation continues as normal. As far as "not telling when a conversation doesn't end" -- I don't really know what you mean, but if you're talking about the right time to change the topic, or knowing when you're not interrupting, I have the same problem. But my friends are all like that because we're loud, verbose teenagers and no one gives a butt-munch!
