I was talking to some friends and one of them jokingly told me that I'm fake, no big deal. But with having Asperger's syndrome I overanalyzed what he said (of course) and any time I do this I keep coming to the same infinite self argument.

If my ability to understand certain things is inaccurate then does that mean that any way I could understand myself is wrong? Am I fake? Do I mistreat my friends or am I just a goof? Does being open about my autism make other people uncomfortable? my point is when I ancwer these questions for myself how can I trust my own judgement?

I have had a similar experience where a friend told me (jokingly, I think) that I have multiple personalities.

It might not be wise to get caught in a loop and better to ask your friend what he or she meant.
