So i'm Anna and I start work tomorrow at my local shop. I live in a village with about 100 people so not many and i'm an hour in the shop however my anxiety levels have gone through the roof and i'm feeling really nervous which I know is natural but as I write this my hands are shaking like crazy. I'm getting a little bit worked up. Could a fellow aspie with anxiety tell me how your first day at work was/how you felt/how the day went + was it as bad as your brain anticipated. (btw the lady who owns the place knows about my anxiety and is really understanding about it hence why i'm only doing an hour there on quiet days but still I feel overly anxious)

17 years ago, I had that day.

It was a big change. Fear
Why did I do this.

After I got the job, someone suggested I dress more "preppy"
I didn't and still don't.

I'm still there.

Change someone told me and I hated that word - change

My hope for you is you will help someone get through a similar situation in the future.

By now you have probably had your first day, but my first day was as a bagger in a grocery store.
I was nervous, but not to the extent you were. Because I was constantly busy and it was a physical job I forgot about my anxiety pretty quickly.
I am more anxious now about going to work because I dont like it.

You will be ok, it's good that the owner knows, that will help :)
Remember to breathe, and don't listen too hard to instructions. That sounds strange, but you will take in more if you don't try and focus on every little thing. Also, you are not the centre of attention, though it feels like that sometimes. People are just getting on with their stuff though, they are not that bothered with what you are doing. That can help relieve pressure. You will be great st your job in a bit of time, but dont feel you have to everything all at once. :)
