Do no questions mean no interest ?

I know I'm not always good at asking questions. I am at least aware of it, and try to work on it.
Does he know that you want him to ask questions? Or that he's not doing it?
Sometimes I just assume that anyone that knows me knows that they will probably have to initiate everything, and depending who it is they may have to interrupt me to do it. Sometimes, I don't know what to ask, and I just hope the other person tells me whatever it is they want me to know.

I don't tell him about lack of questions because I feel like I'm being critical. I should interrupt him. I'm not being genuine out of worry that I'll hurt his feelings. I let him talk non stop mostly. I'm also a chatterbox so I guess I have empathy, but
