I have a guy been posting on one of the Meetup.com groups where I host events. This group called Young and Socially Anxious (I am not anxious person though I get along with many introverted and smart people in this group). There this guy whose I never met before. He posted this almost every week asking people to join him to attend the event that where he wanted to go. He have lot of support and people want to join him few weeks ago until now it not, but seeing he posted same thing over again seems didn't have anyone coming with him at all.

Quote:
Hi! So I've been invited to a party to be held at Netherworld in on SATURDAY & I really want to go, but I'd like someone to be my plus-one.

What with my social anxiety and introvertness and all, there are gonna be quite a few people there that I haven't met and I just want someone there for moral support

Some of you may have seen me post this a number of times before and I thought I already found someone, but they have seemingly disappeared on me

Did anyone wanna tag along? Preferably someone around 20-27 years old (I'm 23 yrs old)

I found another post of him asking for someone to check his messages:

Quote:
Just a reminder for Jules to check her private messages. No need to reply to this.

As one of the moderators for this group I feel his approach scaring people away causing concerns in the group. I noticed he does a same thing with other Meetup groups, resulted his posts were deleted. From my perspective I am seeing him being insecure, have severe social anxiety and depression symptoms, and have no coping skills. Why ask someone to be his 'moral' support for going to events where you rarely knew someone? I always go to events and places for my own company and enjoyment.

What you think?

Is he posting the same exact post day in and day out? If so, aomething is up. Feels like a fishing expedition. You may want to reach out to talk about your concerns. Did people actually come with concerns about him? People usually just ignore that.

Every week he does that when nobody reply to him. There are over 10,000 members combined in three groups he posted about this. He copied and pasted it. Hence his posts got deleted. First time he did this there were at least 30 responses. Now he doesn't. There something may have happened between those times. It may have appeared scaring people away due to his attitude and insecurity.

EDIT: I just noticed now that his post got deleted from the group where I copied his quotes from. So all posts he got deleted third week in the row.

It seems desperate if he keeps on posting the same thing all the time, constantly, like you stated.

This person is insecure for sure; perhaps, he is also desperate.

I knew seems like that. Thanks for claiming my thoughts from observing this behaviour. Glad I understand this.

Ah heck, I'd go with him. Could have a raging good time. Perhaps than his confidence would improve as he could meet other people. I'd only be out a few hours of my time.

Of course I'm not NT and I don't give a rip about how he or she may sound desperate to others. People are people and treat them as such.

You got your point here which is good from my perspective. To be honest I really had a thought about coming and join him but Netherworld is loud and distracting environment for me hence I wouldn't be bothered to tell him I couldn't go with him despite he wanted to go there.

There are at least 1,000 of Meetup members seen his post, initially supported him to go with him but nobody did in the end hence he kept asking same thing each week. I have a feeling he private messaged someone who said yes to him have scared them away. Like that second quote I added which asked someone to check his messages.

These kind of situations totally reflects today generation are very insecure, don't know how to deal with other people's situations, their different communication and social perspectives. This makes the society a lot harder to avoid presumptions. This makes people uncomfortable.

Yep indeed. Found out he is NT and able bodied. Have no support. I am starting to see that many NT and able bodied people I know rarely get support from experts and empathy. Friends and family network seems shallow from their end not improving their confidence. My friends and family network are built on my confidence, from the point where they referred me to talk to someone about 8 years ago due to my HFA symptom influences. Today I am self managed and lead my own life.
