Has it become harder to make friends in the last 10 years?

Ten years ago, people would try to talk to me and offer to be friends.. I personally was also more interested and made efforts.. since smart phones became widely used, it seems making friends has become harder. Is it just me, or have others noticed this too?

hmmm, you list your age as 33. That means you are comparing being 23 and being 33. 10 years ago your peers were exploring the world, looking for a career as well as love. Now the majority are trying to raise kids while holding down their job. Its not you, its them.
Where did you go 10 years ago that had people that found you interesting?
Where will you go today that has people you find interesting?

I always had to hide my ineptitude and lackings of my personality though, and while trying to hide that I am different in a stupid way, I hoped that having small and brief interactions with people I met at meet up groups and social dancing events and going on dates with girls, that eventually I would improve my know how and grow my personality enough to have what other people around me had - friends, dating, good conversations.

I would go to concerts and live shows and wonder why popular girls in pretty dresses were taking videos of the show to post on their social media instead of watching the show and enjoying what is in front of them.
