Okay, so, social bartering is super simple if you can gain the confidence to play this social game. It is literally like a video game.

The idea is not to insult your opponent when bartering - you both drop in hints of what you want throughout a conversation, toying with each proposition in a hypothetical vaccuum of an argument, until the person who starts losing the argument in verbal speech is brought to a point whereby the emotions & viewpoints they are airing could get them physically beaten. The person who loses then takes a physical hit - and the other person decides what to do with them & then that decides each persons future, and where they stand in relation to one another, politically.

When you lose a social game, you offer yourself up to the opponents mercy for them to decide what to do with you - and then the loser of the social bartering game, analyses the winners character and whether you (the loser of the social game) - trust them to progress with their narrative. If it is consistent on a long time scale & adds up, then that person is trustworthy.

If they have already put way more into a social relationship than you have - it is your job to have the courage to offer yourself up to them, trusting them not to use your social advance against you.

This has the added bonus of the social game winner being even more reliable in the eyes of the person who has lost, if the winner decides to deliver on their promises.

P.S, I don't mean a physical hit in real life - but putting a person at a political disadvantage in real/offline life. Christ.

The winner knows if you trust them or not, based on whether you decide to take this gamble.

If you don't take the gamble, you gain nothing but alienation. If you gamble, you risk losing everything, or gaining everything.

It is probably worth adding that humanity has operated like this in western culture under Christianity at least - for many thousands of years. NT's operate like this today and it is considered entirely normal.

Trust is the human ingredient to successful societies. If you cancel trust in society, then you basically doom society.

Removing trust is a regression of the human condition, not an advance of it. It might seem naive to trust, but when entire communities are built on trust and it becomes the norm' - people are afraid of not being trusting, as opposed to being cynical.
