Been trying to take a break from a "friend"

It's been five months since the most recent interaction

Been contemplating if I just want to not engage in that "friend" anymore

What have you taken breaks from and how many years did the break last?

I don't take such breaks consciously, I just interact whenever I feel like it, which might be once a day or once a year.

I've gone about three years without contacting one of my "friends".
I don't really have hard feelings but she was far too social and didn't respect my needs.
She kept insisting that we talk on the phone instead of online (I hate telephones).
When I saw her she would talk in a nonstop monologue about her own life for hours on end.
She berated me during a long car trip, because she thought I wasn't "normal".
When I told her about my autism she suggested I go to Gestalt counselling to get it fixed.
