Gosh hate those things! For you aspie guys, do you dislike using urinals in the bathrooms? I for one HATE them so much! I always feel so damn awkward using them, dont like other guys that close when Im peeing, its really strange....I try to use the stall as much as I can to avoid this but if someones in it I either have to force my self to use the urinal and hope no one gets to close or just leave and find a bathroom with an open stall.

The only thing I don't like about public urinals is when smokers throw in their cigarette butts.

Don't they know how hard they are to re-light?

I rarely use public restrooms. If I ever do, it's the stall I use. Too many anxiety issues here. If I hear too much noise, like someone peeing in the next stall, I have trouble then. I must have complete silence to do anything in the restrooms.

When I was a kid I would always only use the urinal at school. I did not like using the toliet. I had some adveristy to it maybe. the restroom in my elementary school had the urinal i a stall.

I never liked public restrooms. I rarely, if ever, used them prior to college. Even now, I much prefer using a stall.

I have trouble actually peeing if someone is too close to me....I also hate having to poop in stalls sometimes when theres too many people in there, the combination of too many people talking and that fail attempt at making a stall more private than urinals is awkward. Loud noises dont normally bother just when I pee.

Are you saying you would do both in a urinal? I hate urinals though, so easy to spread disease through them, public health shouldnt allow the use of them.

Problems with urinals are not unique to Aspies, not by a long shot. But I'm sure AS complicates matters.

I have had extreme issues with them for reasons I will not go into here. I have only recently begun to overcome my anxieties.

They're quick and easy and I love that about them but I can't go when people are watching.

In particular, I used to work with a cousin of mine (he grew up with my mother). He'd often see me in the toilet and take the urinal next to me and say "hi, how's your mother going?"

Standing there, holding myself was definitely one of the times when I didn't want to be thinking about my mother.

I'm alright with them unless someone else is using them at the same time. I find it unconfortable.

As a female, I don't even know why I'm posting on this thread, but I always felt really sorry for any guys having to use urinals. Even stalls in public bathrooms are bad enough - particularly in women's bathrooms where other people are inclined to hang around for ages talking. Which I also don't understand. If I want to have a conversation with somebody, the last place I want to have it is a stinking public bathroom, to the backdrop of sounds of people using the toilet. :(

I'm ashamed to say that at work, I use the disabled toilet, which is in a room of its own (would quickly vacate it if it was needed by a disabled user, of course).

I hate them too. And I also hate going toilet in a public place other than home. When I really, really gotta go, even if it's just a wii, I use the toilet. I hate urinals. They're so stupid.

Oh yeah, I get nervous all the time. Especially when someone walks in and uses the one right next to me. Cause then I have no idea what to do with my eyes and where to look. It's really anxiety-inducing, but like others said, its the easiest.
