It's been a while since my last post.

Brief history and then the question:

Age 10-19: no friend at all, total recluse.

19-26: Hang out on weekends with NT people (also had a "girlfriend")

Then I met a guy (let's call him G.) I felt close to (first time ever), someone to call friend, and joined his group (one member is likely an Aspie).

Now (I'm 27) I'm feeling I don't really want anyone around, I never really feel connected to them, it's always so FAKE.

The question is : is it time to give up on the idea of having significant others, living my life just sticking to the things that I enjoy ?

Thanks

I say just do what makes you happy. If people make you unhappy, avoid them. If you meet someone who puts you in a good mood, try to spend time with them, if you feel like it. Are you content by yourself or do you feel like you need friends or a significant other in order to enjoy life?

I thought G. was some kind of "blood brother", but now I realise that a part of me HATES him.

Right now I'd say I'm better off just living by myself with no significant others.

Point is: how can I enjoy a significant other if I feel disconnected from everyone ? I'm usually nice to people, I always joke when I'm in a good mood, I just can't feel any genuine connection.

I must say that although I often feel dissconnected I also fear that I will loose my social connections, which are good now and could be good later in life no doubt. I dont want to die alone, without any friends, wife, or children, even tho I enjoy most things solo.
