as much as i wanted to vote yes because i can relate to what you said in the second part of your post, i cannot.
there are some people out there who are worth the effort...they are just few and far between.
i understand your hypersensitivity and feelings of betrayal...they are feelings i know very well. every friendship that does not turn out the way i wish, or ones that aren't reciprocated equally, often feel like a betrayal of sorts to me...i tend to give too much, and most often don't get the same in return. i expect too much and i am often let down.
but like i said, there are people out there who will care. you just need to find them, and then when you do, learn to appreciate them for who they are and what they mean to you, not so much what you mean to them. you will go through a lot of hurt and anger and feelings of betrayal most likely, but when you find these people, it will be worth it.
learning to trust is not easy. but you have to try. it took me a long time to learn to trust again. it does get easier with each positive thing that happens. just try to focus on the positive...there are some good people out there.
i am fortunate now to call a few 'friend'.
