I dont know how to do small talk. I can talk about the weather but I need to know what else I can talk about. Ive tried listning to other peoples chats but they just gossip about other people. So, what do YOU talk about when you small talk?

I don't think the topic matters as long as it's something that the other person would probably feel comfortable talking about. You could talk about celebrities, the news, etc.

People like to talk about their interests.

You can ask questions like, What kind of music do you like?

Where do you like to shop the most?

What sort of books do you like to read?

Have you seen any good movies lately?

What do you like to do the most for fun?

You might try just one of these at a time, and then be prepared to listen to their answer. Then you might share your own answer to the question, or they might ask you :)

You also want to make sure not to interrupt. The two minute rule can be helpful. When approaching a talking group of people, wait two minutes to see what they are talking about before speaking. You wouldn't want to accidentally blurt something out that had nothing to do with their conversation :)

s**t I read. s**t I enjoy. s**t I am doing. ... examples: Somebody reading a book. "Hey, great book" :) "Have you read the sequel?" ... Person sitting in a park: "Hey, I have this Frisbee want o toss it around?" or "Hey, can I play with you guys?" ... or in school "Hey bro, did you catch the opening ceremony for the Olympics?" "No?, damn it was pretty ill, maybe you could snag somebody's TIVO." ha-ha ... and then carry on a covo from there.

small talk is just intro talk. People on average small talk to either A: feel batter about themselves e.g. talking gossip about other people or B: to get to know something new be it a person or a piece in information they truly find interesting. I talk with people about stalks sports and things I truly don't know about ... that way hey get to teach me and also they tell me about themselves and then all together we have a pleasant interaction :D

PS: It doesn't matter what WE small talk about. What matters is what YOU small talk about. Are you made of cardboard or cookie dough? Then don't act like it
