Try to find something about her behavior that you can secretly be amused about. An inside joke that's a stress-reliever when she gets overbearing.

Or you can pretend to be all New Age and say, "Our energies don't mix well together so it's probably best that we stay out of each other's way."

Or the civil way, "Please don't take this personally, but I'm not a social person. You're a nice person, but I'd rather be left alone most of the time."

Or the loud, coarse, urban way, "Look b***h! Stay out of my f*****g way! I've got things to do and I don't need your raggedy ass following me around and pestering me!" Also be carrying a baseball bat while she's around :twisted: She'll think twice :pale:

That's all I got, I guess...

I have noticed how many folks will not act like thier normal selves when in a new place. People will often have exaggerated reactions to sensory stimulations like visuals, confined spaces, loud places Ect.

On airplanes and in airports are good examples. Just ask a flight attendant. Folks react to over stimulation and stress. perhaps this lady was just trying to cope and not able to be sensitive to what she was or is doing because she is overwhelmed by her surroundings.

SHFL is a stim juggernaught. I was totally caught up in the pianos :nerdy: . Toy pianos were & are one of my fleeting fixations for now and I was tripping on that I just met someone who shares one of my interests and has soooo much knowlege about them :drunken: . I was just looking for one in good shape. Any way, at that moment, I could have done a fauxpas something or another to wich I was emotionally blind to the impact on the piano owner. Perhaps I did. and such things I have done. :shameonyou: and this is why I examine myself. I just figured this is part of SHFL.

I think giving her the red bag for free is a nice gesture. Make sure she knows it's as an apology though- otherwise she might think you're giving it to her because you're good friends :P

I agree with aguales- it's easier to cope with people like this if you can find them amusing rather than annoying. I have an aunt who does my head in- I actually resorted to wearing sunglasses around her so I could roll my eyes without her noticing... (amazingly therapeutic)

On toy pianos, I found the Twink band and thier insturment collection page;
http://www.angelfire.com/stars/twink/gallery.html
This is an artist that makes music with toy insturments.
What is interesting here, is that these songs are written for that insturment, whatever it may be, for its limited range of sound.
there are sample tracks on each album page to hear.
