I'd probably say something like "Sorry, but I don't have much of an opinion toward it," or ignore them when they start up. I'd only use the latter if you're talking in a group conversation, though.

I like music, but I don't talk much about it because I'm not much for English-language music as I am for foreign music, so nobody knows what I'm talking about. x_x

When that happens to me (not about music, which I listen and like quite a bit), I simply wait in silence until the conversation shifts to a more interesting matter to me. For some forms of social gathering that may make me look awkward or shy, but I certainly prefer that to talking about things I don't know of or have no actual interest in.

Finally a fellow who is as disinterested in music as me. I usually say I'm just not into music, but if they ask "why not?" I also have the convienient explanation to say that I am deaf in one ear (which I am) and that because of that music isn't as awesome to me as it is for everyone else.

Whether my partial deafness makes me less interested in music or not, I am not sure.
