Has anyone else in either highschool or college noticed that it's very hard to make friends with other "quiet" or "aspie" types that you may see in a given situation? I notice these people, but I don't have the motivation nor social skills to be able to talk to these types, even though they are probably the most compatiable with us? Do you find yourself more comfortable with "unusual" but still sociable NT's even though they may pick at us or give us a hard time for our Aspie traits? At least this has been my experience.

Well I'm long out of high school and skipped college, but I do remember this.
The quiet people, Well if neither of us can keep a conversation going, how's that going to work? I'm not very outgoing about making friends, so the other person needs to be a bit aggressive about it or it's just not going to happen.
But I did always seem to do better with the freaks, or as you put it, "unusual" ones. My friends to this day can be considered pretty strange.
Never could get along with the preppy people or the jocks.

In high school I always hung out with a group of very quiet guys, but we weren't nearly as quiet towards each other as we were to the rest, so that worked out just fine.

You have to keep pushing them like "What do you wanna do?" or "Where are you going" something of that sort.
