Apparently our AS tendencies make it so!

I'm a sensitive guy (more sensitive than other guys are in real life) so I'm not interested in weeding the jerks out. Social failures hit me harder than others. Still, some jerks get weeded out no matter how hard I try to give a presentable facade.

It also looks like I've weeded out who knows how many jerks here on WrongPlanet! (I may have to get a new username just because of them and only go back to this original one once all this blows over.)

Now, do you think you're better at "weeding out the jerks" than NTs? What is your opinion on having this ability?

 You are so funny! Well I hope this is an attempt at subtle sarcasm! I have seen some of the threads where ...oh I don't know how to say it ...you are not being very popular.
I don't know if it is your dry sense of humour or not on purpose you seem to be coming across a bit negative and people are kind of reacting to that.

I am quite new here but haven't really found many jerks here - just sensitive people who are actually very nice.

Well hope it all blows over for you soon!

In answer to your question - no, I am not better at weeding out jerks than NTs - I always give people benefit of doubt and try at communications. Then again some of my friends think I see good in everyone and everything. Don't see why that is bad though. Nobody is inherently bad. Enough of digression!

Weed them out? How about you start bullying them back? Give them trouble? Insult them, put them down, make them mad and get a kick out of it? Problem solved. Or just ignore them by not letting them get to you.

I don't think we're better at weeding em out. There's widespread discrimination against those with AS, so those who are nice to normal people may not be nice to those with AS. So we'll see the nastier sides of those people.

a**holes are pretty predictable to me, but it's not AS that makes it easy for me. It's the fact that I've come across a lot of these motherf***ers in the past, and people tend to show their true colours when they catch me being awkward. I can see em from a mile away...

i'm usually really good at pointing out a jerk within a few seconds of meeting them. i don't know what it is, but if i see someone, even if i don't see them doing anything that would make them seem like a jerk, and i get the impression that they're an a**hole, it almost always turns out to be right. now you could say that's biased, i think they're a jerk therefore i notice everything they do that would make them seem like one, but in all honesty, i try to dismiss my first impressions but they almost always turn out to be right.

I have noticed a pattern between jerks and nice people. Lot of people think I'm smart and pretty and very thin. Even aspies say that. But the ones who say I am stupid, ugly and fat, turn out to be jerks. So anyone who had a totally different opinion of someone are usually jerks.

But when my opinion is different than everyone else's, I wonder if that means I'm a jerk?
