I seem to be in the situation a great deal where I become friends and socialise with the type of people who absolutely dominate the conversation, or cut you off when you do speak.

Like, solid barrages of talk from the other person that last maybe 5 minutes at a time, during which you cannot get a word in edgeways.

I then cannot process the barrage of talk or respond for it in time for the next barrage, and the next, and the next again, I'm left all at sea.

Then there's the cutting off of things you say. I can't even finish a single sentence. Heck, I can't even start a sentence. It's just a gasp, and that's all I can muster before I'm inevitably cut off. So sometimes my conversation ends up being a series of gasps and little else.

Who else is in this situation a lot? More than a little?

Right now I'm simply exhausted, from the sort of conversations I describe.

I have one friend who is like this. If I'm not in the mood for it, she can be a little overwhelming, but sometimes it's kind of nice just to sit back and listen. She has a good, sick sense of humor, and generally makes an effort to ask involve people by asking questions, which can help a lot.

There are times when she can come across a little bit snarky and mean, but I try to just roll with it and assume she isn't trying to make me feel bad.

I have that often
I find it better in a way cause then I'm not stuck wondering what to say next
Maybe I might try and ask the odd simple question so I dont seem rude like ''When was that then'' or ''How did that happen''
