I have Aspergers and bipolar disorder. I thrive on routine, but with the bipolar, I'm not very effective at keeping a routine, so it effects how productive I feel I'm being in life.

I just have aspergers. I can't connect with people easily and I have a very difficult time with social interaction. The social skills people take for granted, I do not possess.

I know this feeling all too well. Seeing as I'm also sort of fixated on productivity, this is often absolutely maddening.

And to respond to the OP....Aspergers, synesthesia, bipolar (was primarily depressive pre-hysterectomy, am now primarily hypermanic....now THAT'S what I call productive!! !! !), OCD, PTSD. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Asperger's and 'something else'. Three different experts, all agree I'm highly unusual, none have a proper explanation for it. Sigh.

It's because of the speed of my thoughts. My IQ scores have always indicated me to be a genius, but that's not entirely true. I think at roughly double the speed of your average person at all times (according to testing done by licensed psychologists), which combines with my AS attention to detail to make me appear monstrously intelligent, but I'm really not. I get worn out super fast because I can't slow down my own thought speed and my attention can easily suffer if there's anything else present I think I'd enjoy thinking about.

Whatever it is, my psych's have helped me create a cocktail to properly utilize that speedy energy when absolutely necessary. I don't do it often because it seriously harms my body in the process. I can drop pounds in a matter of hours, my heart starts physically hurting, I twitch a lot, and it takes me about a whole day afterward to recuperate. The results are great, but I'd kill for a better cocktail.

I have Aspergers & depression. Although I'm not currently depressed, it seems to come in an almost predictable pattern...the day before I fall into depression I usually get really happy/hyper, no idea why. :?
I've also been diagnosed with PTSD but that doesn't affect me much anymore.
