Do you have a tendency to procrastinate? Why?

Yeah. All the time, usually with homework or something my mum wants me to do. Usually I feel I am 'busy' at the time (not really doing anything productive) so I try to do these things when I am out of my leisure phase, but I usually forget what I needed to do. For schoolwork I usually leave it to free lessons, or times 'closer to the exams' I know I shouldn't but I do and can't always help it :?

I don't usually procrastinate because I obsess over my marks, but this weekend I did. Grr. Sometimes, after school, I'm so tired so I go on Youtube or some forum and end up wasting my time on there. The computer screen makes me even more fatigued... and then I can<t bring myself to do my homework. So it's mostly due to sleepiness after school, plus if I get a bad mark I become upset and sort of give up on stuff for a while.

Why do today what you can put off til tomorrow?

I am a total procrastinator, always have been. The thought-pattern goes like this:

4pm "I have math homework to do. But I'm gonna check my emails first."
4:15pm "Just gonna check WP..."
5pm "Interesting discussion in PPR, I'll do it after this, I promise."
5:30pm "After dinner, right..."
6pm "Just email my friend a bit more..."
9pm "Oh crap, I forgot the stupid homework...oh well, I'll do it before class tomorrow."
Next day
9:50am *having completely forgotten the homework, I read my book*
9:15am "God damn it."

Yet I never learn the lesson, do I?

I've been called a procrastinator, but I'm not sure if that's entirely accurate - if it's something I'm interested in, the problem becomes dragging me away from it when the house catches fire. There are many times, though, when I simply cannot operate according to someone else's schedule (meaning my brain allows for a certain window for a specific chore and outside that window, forget it - when will that window arrive? I'll know when I feel it). Which is what makes living with an OCD partner such constant fun!

Is procrastination part of being an Aspie then? Or is it just us being lazy? I'm confused... I seem to have exactly the same thought patterns about just one more thing then I'll do it, just one more thing...

Nothing to do with being lazy, and everything to do with executive dysfunction. Unfortunately, any kind of condition that is not physically tangible to Joe/Jane Public is dismissed as a negative characteristic. Have cancer? You're a hero/martyr. Depression? You're lazy!

I procrastionate all the time - it's very difficult for me to just get up and go do something when I can visualize myself with enough time to do it later.

Somehow I got better during my sophomore year (I'm a senior now) in high school and I made straight A's. I wish I could tap into whatever energy or motivation that led me to accomplish that now...

I always procrastinate. I procrastinate because I usually don't like what I'm suppose to do so I feel better if I put it off to a point where I have to do it later on.

I procrastinate alot. I find it to be a motivation issue dependent all upon my mood of the day. If it's a good mood, I only procrastinate a little, but the days my moods are off (which are many), I find it hard to get motivated. I would much rather be doing things that could possibly cheer me up. Responsibility tells me to do what needs to be done when it needs to be done, but it never wins the battle with my mind. I always end up doing what I want, and I always say to myself "Next time I'll do it". Each next time after, responsibility passes me by...

I'm procrastinating right now.
I feel really bad after I continuously put something off until the last minute but yet I still can't force myself to actually do it. :(
Why be hideously bored whilst studying when you could be mildly bored whilst surfing the net?

YES! I never can find any motivation to do any of my school work. I can put it off until the last minute, literally the the last minute. I don't always have it completely done for class, but most of its done!
If you can think of any way to be motivated to do math, TELL ME PLEASE!! ! My parents would love to know how...
